AP Non Fiction Teacher Seoul

Direct Hire Twinkle Mapo is looking for a non-fiction teacher for its AP ACADEMY branch in the Mapo area near Seodaemun Station, in central Seoul. Twinkle has sister branches in Daechi, Bundang, Mokdong, and Songdo. The school is surrounded by museums, galleries, palaces, consulates, universities, restaurants, and cafes, and is only a two-minute walk from the train station.

Twinkle AP offers a unique curriculum that targets the top 1% of Korean elementary students. The program is designed to foster critical thinking and stimulate creativity through fiction and non-fiction classes. Subjects include science, history, debate, creative writing, and essay writing. The school is also planning classes in management science and artificial intelligence. Twinkle hosts various events throughout the year, including an Annual Science Fair. Its mission is to educate Korea’s future leaders and inspire them to change the world. Twinkle students are self-motivated and communicate like native speakers.

Position

• Looking for: 2 new teachers (preference for those already in Korea and with teaching experience)
• Location: Jung-gu, Seoul (중구, 서울)
• Starting date: April or June
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, 40 hours weekly
• 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm: Prep time
• 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Class 1
• 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm: Break
• 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Class 2
• Class size: Up to 10 students

Payment

• 1st year: 3.4 million KRW per month, including housing allowance
• Breakdown: 2.7 million salary and 700,000 housing allowance
• 2nd year: 3.6 million KRW per month, including housing allowance
• Breakdown: 2.9 million salary and 700,000 housing allowance

Vacation Policy

• 1st year: 11 vacation days plus all national holidays
• 2nd year: 15 vacation days plus all national holidays
• Note: 1 to 3 leave days are allocated, usually during August and December

Requirements

• Native English speaker from Canada, America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or Ireland
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university (a major in social sciences, business, education, literature, or the humanities is preferred)
• A clean national background and drug check
