About this position
Young learner / young adult after-school EFL program — start date September 2026 — American Language Center Tangier.
The American Language Center (ALC) Tangier is looking for experienced full-time English teachers (21–24 contact hours per week; roughly 690–810 hours annually) who are dedicated to communicative, learner-centered teaching and proficient in integrating educational technology into lessons.
Successful applicants should be comfortable running lively, student-focused classes that regularly include pair and group work, games, movement, and creative task-based projects. Teachers will also be responsible for maintaining Google Classrooms for classroom and at-home activities. We prioritize engaging, skills-focused instruction with a clear emphasis on what students can do in English.
ALC Tangier is a member of the American Cultural Association (ACA), a private non-profit with 12 language centers across Morocco. Classrooms are well resourced with flat-screen TVs, computers, cameras, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a wide range of supplementary teaching materials. Teachers benefit from shared Google Drive resources and pre-made Google Classroom templates.
ALC provides limited ongoing professional development, including in-house workshops and the opportunity to take part in our annual All-ALC TEFL Conference.
Qualifications- B.A. degree
- CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, TESOL Via Lingua, Peace Corps’ TEFL certification, SIT TESOL Certificate or equivalent minimum 120-hour, classroom-based TEFL certification that includes live observed practical teaching hours with real learners
- Evidence of at least two years’ overseas general EFL teaching experience (full-time), preferably working with adolescents, young adolescents and children
Experience teaching at university level, ESL, EAP, Business English, test-prep, tutorial (one-on-one or very small group) and short-term substitution is considered less significant when evaluating experience and overall fit for this position.
