Howdy Language School - Japan
Full-time position teaching English as a foreign language to students ages 3 to adult, starting July 2008. 40-hour week; 27 teaching hours. Minimum one year contract. A typical day consists of two to three children's classes and two or three adult classes. Children classes are up to six students, adults', up to four.
Duties include daily preparation of lesson plans based on the school's curriculum and support and participation in the school's annual events for the children's classes, a Christmas Pageant and a one-night Summer Camp and seasonal parties for the adults. Furnished apartment within walking distance included at a cost of 62,000 yen(US$525)/month. Airfare reimbursed at the end of a one-year contract. Paid vacation. Health insurance. Salary is competitive at 290,000 yen (US$2,458)/month.
We are interested in candidates with 2~3 years experience in the ESL/EFL field who hold university degrees in English, Linguistics, a Foreign Language, Education or any other related field. Age up to 30. Candidates must be genuinely interested in teaching children, including young children. They must have outstanding oral and communications skills, possess a solid knowledge of English grammar and be excellent conversationalists. American or Canadian.
