Our Teaching Team

You will work with a team of teachers from South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Some have taught with us for almost one year, while others have taught with us for almost a decade. They are always ready to lend a helping hand and their diverse perspectives on work and life in Taipei.

Our Home in Taipei

Taipei’s Shezidao, where our school is located, sits at the confluence of two rivers northwest of the city’s core. Shezidao is surrounded by wetlands and parks, with picturesque views of Taipei’s surrounding mountains. The area is served by busses and cycling paths that encircle the entire city. To north of the school are quaint, laid-back residential neighborhoods filled with mom-and-pop restaurants and local markets. To the south is Datong District, Taipei’s original commercial district. Here, you’ll find heritage architecture next to modern high-rises and Confucian temples next to modern museums. No matter north or south, the surrounding neighborhoods provide easy access to all your daily needs and are the perfect launching point for your travels around Taiwan.

Teaching with us

You’ll teach a mixed schedule of morning and afternoon/evening classes to students 12 years old and younger, with a guaranteed minimum of 20 teaching hours per week. You will be able to hone your skills and build your teaching practice while experiencing and enjoying life in Taiwan. Your receive competitive teaching pay, a stipend for prep work done outside of teaching, annual pay raises, and bonuses for contract completion and other milestones.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify, you must be a University graduate holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Prior teaching experience and/or a TEFL certificate are not required, but helpful. You must also hold a passport from a country where English is an official language (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, etc.), be able to pass a national-level criminal record check, and able to commit to a full year of employment.
