English Teacher needed in, Uzbekistan

$45 per hour, 18 hours per week, 1 year contract (more years optional), July/Aug start date

Apartment/Utilities paid, End of Contract Bonus ($3000), plus Flight reimbursement

MUST:

1) Be able to pass a full government background check, including criminal history

2) Be a Native Speaker, American preferred

3) Have 5 years teaching history with a CELTA, or 8 years history with a TEFL

4) Have 2 references from previous employers

5) No alcoholics

PREFERRED:

1) Knowledge of Russian is a huge asset

2) Self-Managing and Self-Motivated, I'm not here to hold your hand

3) Age 30+

About Uzbekistan:

Honestly, it's a bit boring. This isn't Bangkok or Seoul. This is an amazing opportunity to bank some money, in an extremely low cost of living environment. At $45 an hour, and 18 hours a week, you're looking at earning over $42,000 a year, tax free, in a country where you'll spend $250 - $750 a month, depending on your frugality, and with rent and utilities paid, it really is up to you how much you spend/save. You're free to have as many private students as you want after hours, it doesn't bother me at all. Consider that bonus income. Standard schedule is Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm, although if a holiday cancels lessons on a Monday or Wednesday, you'll be working that Friday to make it up. The contract is for 1 year, plus optional years, depending on you, me, and the students. Stay for 1, maybe stay for 5. For the travel-minded, take your 3-day weekends and travel the Silk Road cities, or a short flight to some of the neighboring Stans.
