About the Job

Small language school with a friendly, professional working environment. We seek a full-time teacher to teach 24 hours per week from now to 30/06/2023. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Evora in southern Portugal, we offer communicative language training and Cambridge exam preparation for small groups of local learners: children/youths from age 7 and some young adults. Teaching schedule 5 days a week afternoons/early evenings and Saturday mornings.

Applications invited from native-speaker-level, graduate, CELTA-qualified (or equivalent) teachers of English with a minimum of 2 years' experience, who are EU citizens or non-EU with residence card (or non-EU, with no residence, but you may only stay 3 months - we will consider this). Knowledge of Portuguese (or other Latin languages) an advantage. We seek someone who is professional in their approach, adaptable, organised, creative and passionate about TEFL.

Freelance position with GUARANTEED FULL remuneration during the contracted period. Remuneration 1,560 euros gross per month. Timetable: Mon. 17.00-22.00  Tue. 18.00-20.30  Wed. 14.30-20.30  Thu. 17.00-20.30  Fri. 18.00-20.30  Sat. 09.30-12.30 plus 1 hour per week meetings. 10 days' Easter holiday. Accident insurance included. Pleasant spacious classroom with bathroom, whiteboard, interactive projector, Windows 11 Laptop. Furnished accommodation available: spacious single room with private bathroom in shared house (including another ESE ENGLISH teacher) costs 450 euros per month plus bills c. 30 euros/month, in pleasant surroundings (located in Rua Dinastia de Avis).

Communicative language teaching to levels: R2 - incl. Starters prep. (2h/wk) 5 stud. 10/11 yrs; Y1 - incl. Movers prep. (2h/wk) 5 stud. 11/13 yrs; Y2 - incl. A2 Key prep. (4h/wk - 2 groups) 13 stud. 12/14 yrs; Z2 - incl. A2 Key prep. (3h/wk) adolescents & young adults, 6 stud.; Z5 - B2 First prep. (7h/wk - 2 groups) adolescents plus 1 adult, 7 stud.; Z6 - post-B2 (3h/wk) 3 older adolescents; Z7 - C1 Advanced prep. (3h/wk) 3 older adolescents. Friendly students - good learners.
