About the Job

Come experience amazing Peru! Extreme Learning Centers (ELC) needs to hire 5 native English speaking TEFL instructors for January/February/March. Presently, we are offering our classes online and in-person. While Peru is a beautiful land, with amazing cultures, it is also a developing nation. Our students can't afford to pay first-world prices, so we can't pay first-world salaries.  That said, our teachers are able to live comfortably, in Arequipa, on what they earn. 

We are looking for EFL instructors who will commit to 3 month contracts. You'll earn between S/16 and S/20 (Peruvian Nuevo Soles) per hour, with most teachers having 3 groups which meet 2 hours per day (18 days per monthly cycle).

We've been a fully accredited language school for more than 16 years, with a focus on quality teachers providing active learning opportunities with interactive language production.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited 120+ hour TEFL certificate with at least 8 hours of observed student teaching, or a CELTA (not an online TEFL). Also, please note that we are looking for native English speakers, as we try to keep the ratio of native to non-native speakers at 2 to 1. 

If you don’t have an internationally recognized TEFL certificate, we are also the host location for the Via Lingua International TEFL course location in Peru, and we offer our graduates their first teaching opportunity.
