About the Job

ESL curriculum and teaching (South Africa/Southeast Asia - remote)

This role requires a high degree of autonomy, entrepreneurial drive, and passion for high-end quality curriculum development and ESL teaching. It is neither a regular teaching role nor a predefined and guided curriculum development role. This is an extraordinary opportunity to shape the future of how Hong Kong children learn English online and prepare them for a more globalized world. You will be a key partner in helping WeSpeaky deliver on our mission to help students become more proficient in English by equipping them with the skills necessary to be self-learners. You will Influence the company’s growth and culture in the long run. This role will facilitate accelerated personal and professional growth.

About the role

• Communicate, gather the requirements, and suggest new ESL product lines as per the company’s vision
• Develop and lead multiple curriculum development initiatives
• Research and utilize the currently available curriculum and modify it as required
• Utilize other third-party free apps to incorporate into our teaching solution
• Take full control over different product lines
• Conduct classes online and test the curriculum
• Provide training for new teachers
• Establish educational standards and conduct regular quality assurance checks as an individual educator
• Try and test different teaching, learning, and delivery methods
• Research the market and update the latest ESL-online trends
• Design tests and tools to measure learners’ progress as well as teachers’ performance
• Influence the company’s growth and culture in the long run

About you

• 3 years of curriculum development experience for young learners 4-10
• 2 years of experience teaching English online to young kids 4-10 years old.
• Highly knowledgeable of existing available curricula online as well as curriculum providers
• Knowledgeable of available teaching tools and willing to explore & test more
• Experienced in curriculum development/teaching for the following company highly desired (iPalfish, VIPkid, Dada ABC, MagicEars, 51talk, Novakid, or any other similar EdTech company)
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Linguistic/Education/Early childhood etc.
• Professional teacher with ESL teaching certificate
• Flexibility and professionalism to respond productively to unexpected occurrences in working with education professionals and students
• NET teacher
• High Emotional intelligence, professionalism, and serious individuals  
• More experienced individuals can only focus on curriculum development while less experience will be considered for teaching only.
