Salary & Benefits:

Job Type: Full Time

The Institute pays teachers a fixed base salary equivalent to or more than the average teacher's salary in-country. This salary is not adjusted down unless teachers request fewer classes, so monthly budgeting is easy. Base salary can be increased by adding classes, extra hours, and substituting for other teachers. Finishing bonuses are paid after a minimum 6-month commitment.

About the Job

Maximo Nivel is a leading ESL institute in Latin America. We are looking for great ESL teachers to join our teaching teams in San Jose, Costa Rica; Antigua, Guatemala; and Cusco, Peru. Maximo Nivel is well known for our "Native English Program," our professionalism, and our dedication to excellent teaching and great client service. We are a hard-working and professional group—and these are the kind of teachers we look for.

ESL teachers teach 30 contact hours per week, Monday - Friday. Class size is limited to 12 learners. Most teachers teach a range of levels from Basic to Advanced. The majority of our learners are young adults, 18-30 years old, and some teens.

We pride ourselves on our teachers, and it is important that you take pride in your teaching. We specifically look for professionals with a passion for teaching. We stress three things in our classrooms:

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree preferred
2. TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification required (minimum 120 hours)
3. Native English speaker
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and a love for teaching; strong team skills
5. Strong computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.
